GlenDronach 33 Year

While not the pinnacle of Glendronach expressions I've experienced, it's still quite commendable. A higher proof would likely elevate it. My perception might be slightly skewed having just sampled a 49-year Glen Grant Gordon and MacPhail Sherry cask beforehand. Nose: Dried grapes, raspberries, dates, figs, caramel, chocolate, strawberries, coffee, bananas, honey, almonds, marzipan, raw cookie dough Palate: Dried grapes, dates, figs, citrus, chocolate, vanilla, prunes, dark chocolate cherries Finish: Dried grapes, bananas, honey, figs, dates, plums, chocolate, floral notes

The only whisky I've sampled that surpasses my benchmark of Yamazaki 18. I compared them directly on two occasions to confirm – I was astonished by the smoothness and depth of this whisky. I regret not purchasing it years ago when it was readily available on the market.

Remarkably smooth with a maple-like sweetness.

Smooth, with notes of butterscotch and oak.
