Cortney Lauer 5.0

The Austin Healey 3000 was a British sports car, evoking James Bond, produced from 1959 to 1967. It's now seen as a genuine classic and a collector's aspiration. A German whisky retailer, "Whiskey&Lifestyle," achieved something remarkable. They bottled a 20-year-old Glendronach at cask strength. What could surpass this? They featured an Austin Healey 3000 image on the label and released it as a limited run. Let me reiterate: it's a 20-year-old Glendronach at cask strength – what more could one desire? Discharged at 55% ABV, it displays a beautiful chestnut hue. The aroma is simply astounding. Candied orange, coffee beans, molasses, and fruitcake. Dark chocolate. An exceptional rum and raisin scent emerged. Plums, hazelnut, and lemon. It even carries the fragrance of a "Frangelico" liqueur. Magnificent. The taste lives up to expectations. Blackberry jam and cinnamon. With another taste, I detected dried fruits such as almonds and sweet pecans. It resembles cognac on a powerful level. The finish is the pinnacle of excellence. A somewhat dry sensation of cinnamon, blackberries, and molasses. Outstanding. In summary, this is flawless. I feel compelled to mention again that this is a "20-year-old cask strength limited Glendronach," a combination of words highly likely to earn a perfect rating from me; and as you may have deduced, it did. My score for this perfect, immaculate dram is 100 out of 100. It is currently contending for the premier position in my annual rankings. Cheers!
