About this bottle
Established in 2011 by five friends from Dublin and Wicklow, Glendalough claims the title of Ireland's first craft distillery. Their primary Poitín, a spirit known in Ireland as "water of life" and meaning "pot stilled whiskey," is crafted from sugar beets and malted barley. Although it appears clear, this spirit has undergone light aging in virgin oak and subsequent filtering. The bottle's imagery depicts St. Kevin, the 16th-century monk credited with introducing pot still whiskey to Ireland.
