Glencullen 10 year

Glencullen 10 year. 80 proof single malt scotch. Aroma: sweet/sherry cask. Taste: moderate sherry, sweet barrel notes, minor oak, sweet finish. Very smooth. I sampled this about a year ago and will definitely revisit it for more detailed notes. It might be the least expensive single malt scotch available. Price: 20 plus tax for a 750 ml bottle. Grade: B-

This 10 Year expression has a clear, deep gold appearance. The aroma is of honey, fruit, and white bread dough. The flavor is of honey, white bread crust, a touch of fruit, earth, and a hint of nuts. The body is medium, and it finishes long and rich. RJT

Stone fruits and sherry on the nose, a semi-oily palate with stone fruits, sherry, nuts, and chocolate notes, and a medium-length finish. For a single malt scotch, the price is unbeatable, especially at $20 on sale locally.

Just fine. For a budget single malt, it tastes just fine. Sherry on the nose with a medium body and a slight burn for an 80 proof spirit. Better than most budget single malts.

Aroma of dark spice, with barley and spice leading, followed by sweetness. The body is quite thin, but excellent for the price.

Quite smooth. Light peat.
