Rylan Kane 1.8

The most prominent characteristic of the nose is its lack of presence. A faint mustiness. It resembles some unaged spirit I once sampled. A sharp and intense arrival that is sweet and tastes predominantly of granulated sugar. I would be surprised if this whiskey were older than 3 years. Some vanilla and honey emerge on the disappointingly short finish. Terrible. I paid 30 pounds for this during a moment of absentmindedness at the checkout in the local shop. I would feel cheated even if I had paid half that. Steer clear.

Ed Wood 2.8

I'm in the mood tonight to "clear out the dregs from my sample collection." An older Glenallachie. It makes me appreciate Billy Walker's recent releases more, which I considered to be just average or slightly better. This one falls short of average, so it's good to see progress, though he still has considerable work to do. It makes you wonder what attracted him to this distillery. It's simply sweet and bland, with no other flavor notes.
