This 40-year-old Glen Grant was bottled by Samaroli from sherry cask #6588 (180 bottles, 45% ABV). The aroma is genuinely pleasing: rich scents of mocha, stewed fruit, and aged wood combine with touches of cinnamon, bay leaf, and varnished timber. The taste is dominated by intricate spices, pecans, and plump berries, with an ideal amount of oak. Rich chocolate, citrus, and toffee linger in the subdued yet refined conclusion.
