About this bottle
Distilled in 1948 by Glen Grant and placed into a first-fill sherry butt on June 11th of that year, this expression was bottled in 2018 by independent bottler Gordon & Macphail. After 70 years of aging, it was bottled at 48.6% ABV cask strength. Only 210 decanters were produced, marking the oldest Glen Grant expression bottled to date (as of January 2019). The Private Collection series features greatly aged single malts from celebrated, little known, or closed distilleries, selected by members of the Urquhart family.
