Taste - (without water) Rich caramel apple juice, a hint of chocolate, dark golden raisins, a hint of fruity incense. (with water) Creamy caramel, dark apple juice, sandalwood? Finish - (without water) Lingering sweetness that is both sweet and dry, fresh dates, golden raisins, caramel. (with water) Gentle ginger warmth, light golden raisins, fruity incense. Score - 81/100 Final Thoughts - This was an intriguing one. I didn't quite detect the "meaty" notes like in their other expressions. This one had quite interesting, somewhat unusual notes of incense and Chinese red dates. These seemed to appear and disappear throughout the tasting, and water didn't seem to improve it as much as with others. It became brighter, but not necessarily better. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes. Would I specifically order it? - No. Would I buy a bottle? - No.

Nose: Very layered. Soil and plants are accompanied by hints of peppery vanilla and sweet apple. Taste: Uncomplicated and lovely. Grain and sweetness. Well-rounded, revealing some oak towards the end. Finish: The finish is strong, beginning with oak, then gradually fading into sweetness. Straightforward, yet elegantly crafted.

Nose: Caramel, Plums, Walnuts, Cinnamon, White Chocolate, Nectarines, Cantaloupes, Raspberries Palate: Brown Sugar, Pecans, Cherry Cola, Maple Syrup, Peaches, Black Cherries, Blueberries, Black Tea Finish: Vanilla, Maple Syrup, Blackberries, Morello Cherries, Walnuts, Cloves, Walnuts, Acacia Honey, Hay

Significantly different from the 16-year-old. It has a smoother, more oily mouthfeel and a finish with more sherry influence. A beautiful whisky. The 18-year-old is even superior, if that's conceivable!
