Very nice sweet, grappa-like, clean finish rye. Not too spicy even though it’s 60% rye. Tastes like New Make - because it basically is even though it has been in a barrel.

About this bottle
Hillrock Estate Distillery in New York produces this Estate Edition of George Washington Unaged Rye Whiskey in collaboration with the Mount Vernon, Virginia distillery that originally created the expression. George Washington's Mount Vernon distillery has limited production capacity, and demand for its unaged rye exceeds what the small facility can supply. A partnership with Hillrock Estate expands the distribution of this replica whiskey, which is based on a two-century-old recipe requiring 60% rye, 35% corn, and 5% barley. Each batch of this Estate Edition, distilled by Hillrock Estate, incorporates a portion of the rye distillate from the Mount Vernon distillery. It is also bottled at 43% ABV in 375ml containers without aging.

It's terrible. But I don't regret buying it!
