Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon (2018 Release)

A potent 66.7%! Its aroma evokes a lumberyard, featuring dried white oak, not the rough exterior but the inner wood. On tasting, hints of vanilla grace the initial moments. The mid and back palate deliver a smooth spice, leading to an unobtrusive finish. Perhaps a touch more length in the finish would be welcome, though I appreciate its enduring quality.

Nose: Sweet with traces of monkey bread, some spice but more like cooked cinnamon. Palate: Sweet caramel and vanilla with some bread-like characteristics. A slight nuttiness emerges as more vanilla appears. Finish: Cinnamon rolls, a touch of pepper provides a little heat but quickly fades as the vanilla softens the finish.

Nearly flawless. Among the most distinctive bourbons encountered. While the balmorrhea and single barrel are worth exploring, the cowboy stands out as exceptional. It has triumphed in blind tastings against Stagg and a 1792 FP store selection.

The nose has sweet oak, and the initial taste is very rich with warm vanilla and sugar, then comes wheat bread, with more oak on the finish. It drinks much easier than its proof suggests.

Extremely potent! The aroma is fantastic, with sweet notes of vanilla cornbread and oak. However, the palate is overwhelmed by the heat, and I typically drink barrel-proof bourbon.

Appealing color and a pleasant aroma. A strong alcohol presence on the palate. A satisfying finish. I intend to purchase a bottle in the future.
