Four Roses Single Barrel Select Binny's OESO

Taste: 2 oz, neat in Glen Cairn. Smell: (4.5) Loaded with caramel and concord grape preserves. It's sweet, opulent, and packed with syrupy cooked fruit. Taste: (4.5) Grapes, apples, vanilla, and pliable taffy. A pleasant sweetness is present, but not excessive. The texture is viscous and coats the mouth. Aftertaste: (4.25) Lingers for ages. The grape preserves leave a taste reminiscent of fig bars. A touch of oak emerges, hinting at its maturation. Summary: An excellent choice! Evidently, 11 years and 6 months is the ideal period for a superb single barrel OESO to age. I'm eager to sample the other Binny's select barrel selections from this batch. OBSQ is the next bottle I'll open after this one is finished. I'm looking forward to comparing them side-by-side and then selecting a favorite after tasting them blind.

Selected by Bull and Bush, single barrel, 2023 - Denver, CO T8ke: 8.3 The aroma presents sweet caramel and brown sugar with dark fruit undertones. Hints of toasted oak are present, alongside a subtle, pleasant grassy note. A full, sweet palate emerges with brown sugar, caramel, and cinnamon. Intense dark berry flavors like black raspberry, grape, plum, and jammy strawberry surround it. The enjoyable medium-long finish lingers. Overall, highly enjoyable. Welcoming, intricate, and fulfilling.

Nose: Gentle floral aroma. Palate: Starts with chocolate, has a wonderful thick body, intense brown sugar, some peppery spice on the finish, a lengthy aftertaste with more brown sugar, hints of cinnamon, and frosted cereal. Might also detect a whisper of sweet orange.
