About this bottle

The 2022 Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon marks the fifteenth such release from the distillery. This edition comprises four distinct bourbon recipes, each aged between 14 and 20 years. The included recipes are: a 14-year-old OESF (20% rye, herbal notes yeast), a 14-year-old OESV (20% rye, delicate fruit yeast), a 15-year-old OESK (20% rye, slight spice yeast), and a 20-year-old OBSV (35% rye, delicate fruit yeast). Master Distiller Brett Elliott crafted this bourbon, which is bottled at 109 proof without chill-filtration. Approximately 14,100 hand-numbered bottles were distributed nationwide starting September 17, 2022.

Sweet on the nose, with berry fruits taking the lead, followed by more traditional caramel and vanilla bean. The initial tasting is quite spicy, with a heat reminiscent of freshly minced ginger, or a really vibrant rye. The flavor palette is quite dessert-like with a plethora of baked good characteristics. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a mellow roundness that you often only find in 18+ year old expressions. This is a solid Four roses release that would appeal to just about any bourbon aficionado, but for the hefty price tag. This is a must have for the bourbon collector, but perhaps an impulse buy for those who are hoping for the next Pappy to “cellar” for investment.

Always interesting to "see" what Four Roses big boy blend has come up with. Blending is often overlooked or not fully understood which is okay Ideally a blend done right leaves one with everything good you could want in your glass...and anything you do not want...not there The aroma is fantastic U can pick up some great smells just pouring this into a glass...tons of fruit The taste is well done Not over oaked Super tasty The finish is good not great As of now 1st pour would rate Aroma 4.5/5 Taste 4.5 /5 Finish barely a 4/5 Overall pleased If aroma and taste continued into the finish this would be incredible Cheers

Nose: caramel, oak, a hint of cinnamon spice, cookie dough. After a sip, more caramel and red hot cinnamon, a touch of pie crust Body: moderate to full Palate: caramel, cinnamon spice, a subtle herbal note emerges. A slightly doughy character appears Finish: long and smoky caramel, absolutely fantastic with a late warmth and more smoke. Wow. Note: Received from a friend. A very good, more than solid, excellent drink. Perhaps slightly unrefined but genuinely tasty.

Mahogany in color. Smells like vanilla marshmallow with banana pastry. The taste is sweet vanilla with marshmallow and orange zest, changing to cherry cola; it's all over the place! Chewing reveals some rye mint and cookie dough. Medium body, but the flavors linger on the tongue. After some time, the oak tannins become prominent, yet with added sugar. It appears the OE is doing the heavy lifting here. Outstanding!

Happy Holidays! A wonderful pour for Christmas Day! Just opened. This is incredibly good. The aroma has cherry, caramel, baking spices, and charred wood. The palate is so thick and oily. Sweet and spicy, with toffee and fruit. Musty, sweet oak. I can't get enough. The finish is long and warm. The sweetness lingers on the palate indefinitely. Every aspect of this pour is equally impressive. Well done, Four Roses!

I like this app for the community rankings, but someone ranking this an 88 makes me want to delete the app, lol. I honestly question if we are drinking the same product, and if so, I am at a loss for words. If we are not, then I understand the ranking, lol.
