Finished in PX Sherry Made with 66% Rye, 30% Corn, 4% Barley grain Alcohol by Volume: 57.1% (114.2 proof) Season 1 Barrel 005 Aroma - An overwhelming fruit explosion. Abundant citrus notes, including orange peel and a hint of lemon pepper seasoning. Dark cherry notes are also very present. The rye comes across more like bubblegum. As it develops, breakfast notes emerge, like blueberry pancakes drenched in syrup. An absolutely phenomenal aroma, worthy of display. Taste - A rapid burst of caramel and vanilla at the start, followed by an intense wave of sherry mid-palate that continues through the finish. Strawberries, grapes, and cherries are very noticeable. The finish is long, with the older aged whiskies really shining through. Plenty of mature oak and a pleasant rye component, with a subtle hint of maple syrup. Overall - This is my first experience with this brand, and this bottle does not disappoint. It has a lovely viscosity and is incredibly dessert-like. You wouldn't guess it's 114.2 proof as it's remarkably smooth and gentle, feeling more like 90 proof. The warmth is almost nonexistent. This bottle is absolutely worth its $100 price point, and then some.
