Clear medium gold. The nose offers spicy clove, star anise, cooked pork, and a hint of charred sweet potato. The palate presents warm, rich smoky bacon, campfire, briny oiliness, charred chicken stock, and some charred cedar. The balance is adequate, with a spicy, smoky finish. The aroma is not appealing, but the mouthfeel and aftertaste are satisfying.

NOSE: sherry, bacon, sweetness, a little vanilla, and a slightly soapy aroma. TASTE: peated, smoked meat, nuts, with sherry sweetness. FINISH: a peated end with a sweet taste. Much better than the first peated Finlaggan, the sherry finish worked wonders for that whisky!
Nose: smoke, burnt nuts Body: quite sharp and a bit unusual, smoky, peppery but lacking depth Finish: subtle hints of cherry, smoky and chili Overall: rather flat
Harsh, unbalanced, intense. Powerful. Evokes smokehouse, leather, raisin, wood, apple, chocolate, pepper.
Smooth, rather sweet, with a strong smoky presence on the palate and in the aftertaste.
Pleasant sherry finish. Bottle acquired!
