Fiddler Georgia Heartwood Bourbon

Aroma: Incredibly rich and full, perhaps the most I've ever encountered. Reminiscent of Starburst. Very fruity and potent. Based solely on the aroma, I'd award 5/5. After a few sips, oak becomes more apparent. Palate: Abundant spice. Significantly spicy and woody. The palate isn't as intense as anticipated from the aroma. The second sip is less spicy, allowing more fruit to emerge. Note: My first sip was the initial tasting of whiskey that evening; the potency decreased once my palate was coated. Finish: Exceptionally long, with the spice persisting indefinitely. The second sip still yields a very long finish with good balance. Overall: A store selection from Atlanta, GA. The age is uncertain, but it's 114.2 proof. I believe it's a wheated bourbon, which is interesting. A gift from my brother-in-law for Christmas, and I consider it a very good present. The color is also beautiful. I'd like to let it rest before trying it again.

This is my first bottle from this distillery, and after 11 years living in Georgia, much is expected. From a specific barrel selection, 57.7% ABV, identified as a wheat-based bourbon. The aroma is very faint until you inhale deeply, causing a slight 'sting,' but then reveals notes of creamy cheesecake (with a graham cracker crust, remarkably!) and a mandarin orange compote, followed by secondary notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. The most prominent taste is cashew; it's present but not overpowering, offering a unique character. It's described as 'fluffy whipped marshmallow that quickly shifts to intense spice. The sides of my mouth are moistened by an almost sour, citrusy fruit note, connecting to the compote aroma. The medium finish resembles boozy chocolate milk – not standard milk chocolate:) Overall, a very distinctive experience for the price. The high proof makes it a highly cost-effective choice, almost making it essential to purchase. Rating Scale: 5.0 - Acquire every available bottle. 4.0 - A must-have; purchase at least one before you pass away. 3.0 - Good; definitely try it at a bar or sample from a friend. 2.0 - I didn't enjoy it, but you might. 1.0 - Your taste buds are comparable to my dog's, and he's quite unorthodox.

ABV - 58.6% TASTED NEAT SMELL - The aroma is quite woody with undertones of maple, brown sugar, and caramel. TASTE - The texture is rich and coats the mouth. The flavors from the aroma are present on the palate, with the woodiness appearing first, followed by another flavor on the finish. Each sip brings a different flavor to the forefront. AFTERTASTE - Lasts a moderate amount of time with a sweet woodiness. It's quite enjoyable due to the lack of harshness or strong alcohol sting. SHOULD I BUY IT? - Yes. SHOULD I BUY IT AGAIN? - Yes. I enjoy supporting small producers, and when their product is this excellent, it encourages me to explore further. The state of Georgia is producing some high-quality spirits!

NOSE - Syrupy caramel. Dense maple syrup. Wood, hide, and a pleasant dairy aroma. Oak spice. PALATE - Richly sweet oak and cinnamon delight. It's very coating for the mouth and throat. Candied spice. FINISH - Oak and cinnamon notes. A bit rough, but enjoyable.

A wheaty, sweet character with a rich, velvety mouthfeel and a subtle oaky bite at the finish. Fleeting notes of sour apple or grapefruit appear now and then. An excellent whiskey for those who enjoy wheated varieties, perfect for sipping. Enjoyable on the rocks, though some complexity is sacrificed.

Caramel and butterscotch detected on the aroma. Very potent. Raisins and cinnamon on the palate. Complex for a young spirit and improves with time, developing a smoky aftertaste. Significant effort was put into this but it's not to my preference
