About this bottle

FEW Spirits' first Bottled-in-Bond release is a four-year-old bourbon, adhering to the Bottled In Bond Act of 1897. This product commemorates the brand's 10th anniversary and anticipates the 125th anniversary of the Act's passage. The mash bill is 70% corn, 20% rye, and 10% malted barley. In line with Bottled-in-Bond standards, it was aged in Minnesota oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years and bottled at 100 proof. As of November 2021, this release was limited to 2000 cases in select NY, IL, CA, FL, and CO markets, plus direct-to-consumer sales, with broader availability planned for 2022 and beyond.

The aroma is not particularly welcoming. Intense spicy oak notes with a distinct corn on the cob finish. There's something off about this release, but I can't pinpoint it. It's enjoyable to compare this with other Few bottles that aren't restricted by bottled-in-bond rules. I'm curious to see if they will produce and bottle this again. I'm hoping they saved some barrels for a more mature bottling, as the immaturity of this spirit is quite evident.

Distillery selection: The aroma is very grain-forward, with some citrus and chicory notes. The palate starts sweet with caramel, more grain character, and a slightly herbal finish. A minor bite is present.

Excellent flavor profile that is versatile for mixing. The heat is mild and appears just before the end. Caramel and vanilla are present.

Smells of sweet apple, vanilla, and spices. The taste is reminiscent of bourbon, with notes of cookies and vanilla. The aftertaste brings back apple pie.
