A quick note: your perspective is the valid one if it differs. My hope was to enjoy this bottle more than the reality. From a technical perspective, it's faultless. It's pure, harmonious, and lacks apparent defects. However, in the end, it feels like a bourbon with a very subtle presence. Regarding the aroma, the scents are quite subdued. I detect a mild sugary sweetness and a hint of citrus—resembling a delicate lemon or a mildly sour orange—but the strength is low. There's no genuine depth or development in the glass, even after allowing it time. It never truly reveals itself. The taste mirrors this pattern. A gentle citrus note emerges first, then smoothly shifts to mellow oak. There's very little spice, and the sweetness remains understated. Nothing is discordant, yet nothing truly distinguishes itself. The composition seems tight and managed—perhaps excessively so. The conclusion is brief to moderate in length, primarily characterized by oak, with faint tannins and a subtle sweetness concluding it. It's agreeable, but not remarkable. If I were to visualize it, it's a symmetrical hexagon—just a very diminutive one. All components are present, but none project sufficiently to establish personality or uniqueness. At a more affordable cost (approximately $20–25), I'd consider this a reliable, uncomplicated everyday pour. At $60 or more, though, I anticipate either greater intensity, more complexity, or at least one standout feature to define the experience. This particular bottle falls a bit short of that mark. It's not a poor bourbon. It's just too reserved for its cost and classification. For my palate, it lacks the richness and broad spectrum of expression that makes a single barrel compelling to revisit.
