END OF DAYS BOURBON-SERIES 1/BATCH 2 110 PROOF MASHBILL: 68% LOCAL NC CORN 22% TWO ROW BARLEY 10% RYE AROMA: Sugar Corn Pops Cereal, Wood Spice, Brown Sugar, Sliced Ripe Red Apple, Peach Preserves, and a subtle note of Young Dried Corn. Quite Good. NEAT: Coats the mouth well. Apricot, Leather, Vanilla, and a hint of Young Corn and Peppery Heat. A pleasant medium-length finish with the bubbly burn of highly carbonated water lingering on the palate, along with Vanilla, Leather, and Char. Distinctive, but still, Quite Good. SPLASH: Reduces some of the Young Corn notes from the Aroma and Taste. Sweetens the overall experience slightly, but the excellent lingering bubbly burn remains unaffected. VERDICT: This producer is located about 20 miles from my home. They produce excellent Gins and Rums. They laid down some bourbon barrels not long after opening, and this is the first to reach maturity. I appreciate the unique mashbill (essentially the malt and rye percentages are swapped) and the bubbly burn is something I typically only encounter in Islay Scotches. Eagerly anticipating Series 2.

Excessively sweet. Unfortunately, nothing makes up for it.
