This truly embodies what bourbon should be. Exceptionally intricate and skillfully crafted. Initially, upon nosing, I anticipated a mediocre whiskey and poured only a small amount for that reason. However, after the complete tasting experience, I was very pleased to have purchased a full bottle. I will detail my process for fully appreciating this dram. Presented at 47% ABV with a polished mahogany hue. Upon first pouring into the glencairn, a potent alcohol aroma is noticeable, along with the classic grape notes typical of bourbon. Despite the strong alcohol, I persisted with the nose and detected: raisins dipped in chocolate, Cabernet Sauvignon-like wine grapes, and vanilla cream. I opted to let the dram sit for 10 minutes. BEST DECISION EVER! After resting, the alcohol notes dissipated, revealing aromas of: lime, fruitcake, more vanilla cream, a subtle hint of peat, and additional grape notes. I spent a considerable amount of time appreciating the aroma alone, becoming quite captivated. The palate was perfectly balanced and unlike any other bourbon, leaning more towards a scotch profile. The flavors emerged in a distinct sequence, which I documented as they appeared: 1. Orange syrup, candied orange. 2. Wood, oak. 3. Ash. 4. A spicy, ashy warmth. This sensation was pleasant, like a stress reliever, truly beautiful. A brown sugar taste is also present at the finish. Full-bodied with a long-lasting finish. It was already highly rated, but I added a drop of water to observe the effect. Post-addition: the nose revealed vanilla cream and fruitcake with candied fruits. The palate offered black pepper and vanilla cake. Overall, it scores 98 out of 100, primarily because allowing it to rest is crucial due to the initial alcohol presence. An outstanding dram. The finest bourbon I've experienced, a treasure to taste and savor. Cheers!

I sampled this at a batch event in Tucson. It was remarkably smooth with a medium spice level. The aroma was very refined. I approve!
