Similar to a Barrell bourbon but with less burn. The initial pour had an unpleasant flavor. After it breathed, it became very approachable... no harshness but a gentle warmth. Oak is prominent with milder Heaven Hill notes following. I need to let this rest to observe its development. A good choice for sipping for those who enjoy high proof. When compared to Barrell, it's a better value, costing $86 versus Barrell's $95-106 in my area.
