Binny's 8-year private single barrel, 65.1% ABV. My partner bought it from the Rockford store. Notes: I let it breathe for a few days before tasting. After the initial sip, I added an ice cube. Nose: Sweet caramel and butterscotch (A lighter aroma than I anticipated) Palate: The flavor mirrors the aroma, adding a pleasant sweet oak note followed by a nice warmth. It has a viscous texture but doesn't overpower despite the high proof. The finish is medium to long. (After adding ice, it drinks closer to 110 proof than 130) Overall: Approximately 9.6. It satisfies all my criteria for an excellent whiskey (layered flavors and great value at retail price). The only minor criticism is the less intense aroma than expected. It's likely the best whiskey bottle I currently possess.
