About this bottle

The second limited edition Barrel Proof Batch for 2025, this Kentucky straight bourbon utilizes a traditional mash bill. It is matured in new, charred American oak barrels, with each release of the batch differing in age and proof. B525 has been aged for 11 years and 6 months and is presented at 126.2 proof without chill-filtration. This bottling is scheduled for May 2025 availability, with a suggested retail price of $74.99.

Stefan Thurman 4.5

Exceptionally good. At 126.2 proof, it's surprisingly smooth. It does become warm with time, but not badly so compared to other whiskeys at the same proof. The nose offers classic bourbon characteristics: vanilla, caramel, oak, and some spice. The palate is very pleasant, with abundant oak flavors, the aforementioned notes from the nose, a bit of butter/cream, and a nice cinnamon finish. It resembles a blend of two other bourbons. If I can find it at the suggested retail price, I will definitely buy another bottle.

Adalynn Keating 4.3

This release returns to the traditional ECBP style, which is quite nice. However, it's not on the level of the legendary C923, so don't be misled. Considering the price, this one is decent, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to justify purchasing these releases. Regrettably, since they removed the 12-year age statement, the quality has declined, and these have lost their appeal.

Patti Paulson 4.3

A welcome return to quality from Elijah Craig after an uninspired A batch. It delivers the traditional bourbon characteristics amplified as a good ECBP should be.

Willie Camarillo 4.3

Quite enjoyable, with a long warming sensation as it goes down. Overall, very nicely executed.
