German-made Elephant Gin was conceived following a trip to South Africa. The creators were inspired by the distinctive botanicals discovered there, aiming to produce a premium gin blending these with more traditional components. Fourteen botanicals in total, including juniper, buchu, baobab, lion's tail, devil's claw, African wormwood, apple, ginger, mountain pine, orange peel, and pimento, are steeped in the base spirit for a full day before distillation. A portion of the profits from every Elephant Gin purchase, specifically 15%, is dedicated to supporting wildlife conservation efforts in Africa.

An unusual mix of aromas including juniper, citrus, a hint of fruity sweetness, and notes of herbal spice. Very intense when consumed neat. The most intriguing flavors remain apparent with tonic, with savory spices and earthiness being most noticeable in the lingering taste, balanced nicely by the tonic's sweetness. Strangely, I felt more thirsty after drinking it than before.
A well-balanced gin with intriguing flavors. It was delightful neat and also paired well with a citrus-forward gin and tonic. I admired the bottle, its backstory, and so on, but its price point, comparable to Monkey 47, places it in a completely different category and not even close to that level.

Notes of citrus and clove, but it's very harsh and alcoholic, with the alcohol unnecessarily overpowering the other flavors. It might be good in a G&T, but I don't have any tonic right now.
A balanced gin with a prominent juniper profile. It has a soft, coating texture on the palate. Mild, pleasant citrus and botanical notes are present. There's a slight alcohol presence on the finish, but it's nicely warming.
Quite enjoyable, featuring some unique botanicals that were challenging for me to identify. Pleasant enough, but not particularly memorable.
