Event: Dramfest 2020. Ah El Dorado..back in the day..my 30s..okay late 30s, five years back, I was all about their incredibly sweet, sugary character...until I stopped enjoying sweet spirits, or really anything sweet these days.. Now, the history behind this one was that all their non-sweetened products were put out by independent bottlers, and then later, the proprietors of El Dorado, Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), decided to handle it themselves, and thus the Albion 2004 arrived. It's intended to be a copy of the Albion Distillery that shut down in 1968, and for this, they utilized Wooden Coffey stills, which I didn't even know existed or were possible, but there it is. Wonderful dram, but I couldn't fully appreciate it that late in the day at Dramfest 2.
