Egan's Centenary Irish Whiskey

Nose: Inconsistent; it seems to smell of nothing... Palate: Lots of lemon, pecans, malt, rye, oily, but unremarkable. Finish: Pungent and long enough, but again, unremarkable. Ultimately, unremarkable.... Very smooth and somewhat sweet. Reminiscent of a good fruitcake with nuts. The cognac contributes a distinct flavor. I was fortunate to have a couple of small tastes at a book signing.

Based on its description, one anticipates more from this. The alcohol overpowered the initial butterscotch notes, destroying the delicate flavors.

I can nearly smell caramel; it's smooth, but for me, there isn't much flavor happening.
