Visual: Honey-gold color; slow, thick legs. Nosing: A complete fruit explosion with a very faint "funk". Smells of marmalade, apple pie, and cinnamon. Tasting: Sweet, with great body and a long finish. Light milk chocolate with a cherry liqueur aftertaste. Warm baking spices from the bourbon cask. Reduced Nosing: Dusted cocoa, floral notes, and vanilla emerge. Reduced Tasting: With water added, more fruit appears, specifically tropical flavors like passion-fruit and dried mango strips. Significant oak tannins are also present. A fantastic 21 year old: smooth, sweet, complex, and deeply satisfying.
