I acquired this for my tenth wedding anniversary, as it appeared to be one of the more intriguing ten-year-old scotches available locally. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and likely shared half the bottle with relatives and companions to offer them the experience. Nose: Malt-forward, lightly toasted wood, rich sherry fruits, some brown sugar, and brighter fruits in the background as well. Palate: It coats the tongue nicely and is quite rich, with spiced plums and apples, molasses and brown sugar, some sharp yet not unpleasant sour notes, and a tiny bit of oak tannin bitterness. Finish: Long-lasting ripe and stewed fruits, a medium warmth but so comforting.
