The liquid is a deep reddish amber. When swirled, it leaves legs that cling to the glass and persist. The nose presents floral rye, sweet molasses, charred oak, brown sugar, and cinnamon-infused vanilla. The palate has a pleasant mustiness, and the aromas from the nose subtly emerge with just a hint of rye spiciness, charred oak, vanilla, and cinnamon. Brown sugar and molasses provide the slightest sweetness. The finish is medium, with a lingering cinnamon spiciness and fading oak and vanilla. The flavors on the palate could be more pronounced, mirroring the nose; while all the notes are present, they are somewhat too subtle. Nevertheless, it remains an excellent spirit for sipping.
