It truly lives up to its name, "Peat Monster." The aroma presents smooth smoke. On the palate: it's oily, with abundant peat, smoke, oak, and salt. There's a bit of pepper and just a slight hint of sherry. Despite being 54% ABV, it drinks like a 60% but remains smooth. No water is needed. I almost gave it a 4.75 and might change it later. It will be interesting to compare this against Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength.
