About this bottle

This is a single barrel selection of the distillery's Small Batch Rye, made with grains cultivated in Wisconsin's Driftless region. It is bottled at 96 proof, and each bottle indicates the whiskey's age. Due to the nature of single barrel bottlings, expect variations in flavor between different barrels.

Theodora Sears 4.3

The nose presents predominantly maple, piney spice, and black tea, with undertones of eucalyptus, powdered sugar, fennel, and oak. The palate features more black tea alongside eucalyptus, honey, rye spice, oak, and white pepper. The finish echoes black tea and honey, with hints of grass and rye spice. Highly enjoyable!

Sharon Schultz 4.0

Selected by a group, described as a rare find. From barrel 1792, aged 39 months, at 100 proof. Considerably better than my other barrel selection. The palate is full of baking spices and rye bread, with a pleasant cinnamon finish. Unexpected notes of crisp apple and cherry are present. A medium finish that is packed with flavor.

I truly hope this distillery remains undiscovered. The rye offers a great initial taste of baking spices and honey. It concludes wonderfully with a prolonged spicy note. A superb, complex young rye that is excellent value for the price.

Julien Baldwin 4.3

Vanilla on the nose and very oaky on the palate. A smooth rye flavor.

Nylah Elam 3.8

Notes of earth, tobacco, prune, and grape. A darker, bitter old fashioned profile.

Jenifer Still 4.3

Pleasant sweetness, baking spice, pepper, and cinnamon. Good stuff.
