About this bottle

Douglas & Todd Small Batch Bourbon, first released in June 2018, is a collaboration between Panther Distillery, Minnesota's first craft distillery, and Phillips Distilling Co. The mash bill includes local "short summer" corn and red winter wheat from Douglas and Todd counties, which inspired the bourbon's name. It is aged for at least four years in Minnesota and bottled at 93 proof.

Shelton Smalls 1.0

It's overpowering and quite disappointing given my expectations. I sampled it multiple times and found it lacks mellowness; even when mixed with cola, I couldn't drink it. It might simply not be to my taste.

Skylar Vallejo 2.0

It smells and tastes like a diluted scotch. It's slightly harsh on both the tongue and in the aftertaste. The flavor had a touch of peat, a hint of cherry, and fruitiness. I would consume it again if it were a present...

Hunter Roman 3.3

It presents with a sweet aroma and hints of apple pie. To my palate, it feels underdeveloped, finishing with a corn-whiskey-like aftertaste, suggesting it needs more maturation.

Braylen Hopson 2.3

Echoing another assessment, it resembles a mild scotch. There's a faint smokiness and undertones of dark fruit. A touch of spice on the tongue leads to an oily finish.

Destinee Darby 3.3

Notes of spice, pencil shavings, oak, corn, and hints of lemon and raisin. Slightly oily with a lingering taste.

Bernice West 2.8

It's passable. A bit too intense for its stated proof. Better suited for mixing than for sipping neat.
