About this bottle

Dos Armadillos Tequila Plata honors the ancient Mexican symbol of protection, believed to be linked to the origins of agave spirits. The 100% agave plants for this tequila are gathered at 8 years of age, then steamed in an autoclave and subjected to double distillation. This expression is presented unaged, in distinctive green-tinted and clear glass bottles adorned with a braided rope detail.

Astrid Mccormick 4.0

Drunk neat. Perfectly clear with significant legs on the glass. The aroma presents agave, fruit, earth, black pepper, citrus peel, herbal/vegetal notes, floral hints, and a touch of mint. The taste begins with cooked agave, abundant candied fruit, and some citrus. Minerals, brine, and slightly bitter herbs alongside black pepper keep it well-balanced, leading to a long, tart, dry finish with sweetness. This becomes much more interesting as it airs out; definitely allow this to sit and don't form an opinion based on the initial pour from a bottle. It was a bit one-dimensional at first, but I continue to discover layers as I slowly consume the pour. Distinctive, quality spirit, an engaging bottle, a bit expensive, but worth trying at least once.
