A big letdown, sadly. It's not a bad tequila, just unremarkable on the palate. The smell was somewhat off-putting, almost like petroleum with smoky undertones. The smoke is present when tasting, but it clashes with the orange. A great concept, but the flavors aren't blended well.

Better than most. An inoffensive reposado offering light wood and caramel flavors with a hint of sweetness. However, nothing stood out as particularly memorable or exciting at the time. It's a nice sipper, but its flavors are completely lost in a cocktail.
The citrus hits the nose and tongue right away. Toasted vanilla and agave are also found, with a touch of oak. It's enjoyable, but I question if it's worth the cost, though it is a top-shelf tequila.
Agave is on the nose, with a touch of grape. Some citrus is present too. The initial flavors present as smoky, followed by a sweetness that wasn't detected in the aroma. Pepper and oak notes conclude the experience.
Takes a while to reach the high notes, with minimal burn. It costs more than a certain other bottle but offers less. Could use more citrus and aging in French barrels for a gentler finish. It's decent, but not amazing. Feels rather uninspired.
I was really looking forward to opening this bottle, but I guess I expected more from the cask finish. It's a nice reposado, but you can find better for $50 less per bottle.
