It's sweeter than dry vermouth but more engaging. I detect a hint of paper alongside the vanilla. Finish: Lingering vanilla, minerality, and pear, combined with subtle herbal notes that dissipate rather quickly. The minerality becomes more pronounced. Hints of spice appear intermittently. An overall sweet and enjoyable finish. - Conclusion - Alright, I'm starting to understand this one. It works well in sweet cocktails made with unaged spirits. Think gin, light rum, blanco tequila, mezcal. Beverages that benefit from a sweet element but don't require the depth and complexity of bitter herbs or barrel aging. Frankly, I find this one to be quite mixed. It achieves moderate success in several areas without excelling in any single cocktail application. It's very good and I genuinely enjoy it, but the uncertainty involved makes it difficult to assign a very high rating. This is somewhat arbitrary, but considering the improvements I've observed, a 16 seems appropriate. Hmm, I've experimented with this in numerous homemade cocktails and I'm leaning towards a score between 15 and 18. It's a wide range, but it reflects my confidence in the assessment. This is not difficult to drink neat, but it doesn't actively delight, so its success largely depends on its use in cocktails. I believe 18 might be too high, but I'm also hesitant about 15. At this moment, I'd settle for a 16. Yes, I don't think I can rate it higher than a 16.

These regulations mandate the use of macerated real plants and sweetening solely with sugar, wine, and/or grape must. Dolin Blanc Vermouth incorporates 32 botanicals, including hibiscus, basil, cinnamon, artemesia (wormwood), and gentian. It is a clear vermouth bottled at 16% ABV.

It's like a gin and port wine had offspring. Smooth, sweet, well-balanced, and fantastic over ice with a splash of orange. I'll certainly have it again.
