Nose: bread-like rye, caraway seed, fresh strawberry, and alcohol. Taste: rye is prominent with a hint of fresh strawberry. Much stronger than its 98 proof suggests. The palate is thin. Finish: strawberry rhubarb Overall: I was drawn in by the 7 yr rye, but the finishes were puzzling. I detected the port-strawberry jam, but not the rum. It seemed immature to me. A standard bottle.

Nose: caramel, allspice, cherry/sherry sweetness, and some subtle oak Taste: bright rye spice upfront with port-forward sweetness arriving quickly after. A very nice winter pour.
On the nose, brown sugar and creme brulee. On the palate, brown sugar and a faint hint of orange chocolate. On the finish, baking spice, powdered sugar, charred oak.
Sweetened baking spices. Comforting warmth without being overly hot. Truly well-balanced.
