Doc Swinson's 16 Year Exploratory Cask Finished in Madeira Casks

Nose: Dark chocolate, maraschino cherry, caramel. It smells like a box of chocolate-covered maraschino cherries. A hint of butterscotch. Body: Light to medium. Palate: Abundant chocolate, light caramel, barrel spice. Finish: Light to medium with subtle chocolate and barrel smoke. Note: Bottle 97 of 273, which is interesting. It felt a bit risky spending a lot on an unknown product, but this has the potential to be very good. A friend offered me the chance to buy it, so I took it. Let's see how far this journey goes... The aroma is of chocolate sweetness. My initial impression is that it's light but flavorful, with a gentle Kentucky hug, some nice barrel spice, and smoke. This drinks quite smoothly, perhaps appropriate for the alcohol content. The finish was initially a bit more robust. I enjoy it. It's unique; I don't think I have anything similar open right now.
