Ariella Sousa 3.0

I was unable to find any details about this bourbon or its maker online. A URL on the label led to a broken website, leaving me clueless about the mash bill. The bottle lacks an age statement and doesn't claim to be straight bourbon, so I assume it's under two years old. Based on a color chart, the whisky appears tawny in the glass and is 90 proof. I purchased a 200ml bottle for $5.99. NOSE: Dominant vanilla, pears, alcohol, and mint. MOUTHFEEL: Thin and watery, with legs that form and disappear instantly. TASTE: Caramel, vanilla, semi-sweet chocolate, diluted apple juice, cinnamon, bananas, brown sugar, vanilla frosting, and cinnamon toast. FINISH: Oak, a subtle chocolate note, pears, and mint. SUMMARY: This has been the most astonishing whisky I've ever encountered. Its low price initially suggested a nose and taste to match. However, as I experienced it, the whisky quickly evolved, delivering far more than I anticipated for the cost. This bottle size is worth a couple of dollars more. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the distillery's operations, if they can improve their public presence and distribution beyond New Mexico, this could potentially be the premier budget bourbon available.

Ember Ledford 3.8

The aroma is initially weak but develops notes of brown sugar and butterscotch. The palate is smooth with caramel and some vanilla, plus a hint of nectarine. The finish is short. An excellent value for the price.

Stacy Peng 3.5

Served neat: Vanilla, caramel, barrel, and char notes. Easy to drink. Good value for the price.
