This is truly a good to very good bourbon that's a little sweeter than what I usually sip daily. It has notes of rich caramel and vanilla with some hints of cinnamon and pepper. Despite the high proof, it doesn't have a significant burn. It's a hidden treasure. The closest flavor profile I can compare it to is a lighter version of Knob Creek with sugarcane.

Whisky Mentors QS01 Candy Cane. Proof: 130. Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium-dark amber. Nose: Caramel and butterscotch with a subtle hint of mint. Palate: More caramel, some red hots. Finish: Long with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors emerge. Overall: 8/10 - It's a shame this isn't more widely available, but that's how single barrel store picks often are.
I enjoy it! Very sweet, like a cola syrup, though artificially sweet like stevia. Also has some wicker wood and spice. Thin legs. A good Texas whiskey displaying all the typical characteristics prominently.
It's uninspired, as one might expect from a 4-year-old.
