Tyson Hostetler 3.8

Nose: Incense, smoky, ash, menthol, coconut, vanilla, stewed fig, mild fruity notes from yellow fruits, sweet, herbal, honey, spicy and alcoholic warmth. Palate: Primarily mirrors the aromas detected by smell, with more pronounced spiciness, sweetness, and alcoholic heat. The more pungent scents are better balanced together on the palate, accompanied by a slight bitterness. Finish: Medium to long with evident smoke, incense, alcoholic heat, and bitterness. General Impressions: An unconventional whisky, deviating from the standard whisky ideal. The amburana barrel finishing is largely responsible for the distinct nuances, especially for those familiar with cachaça and this type of wood. The whisky improves considerably from the halfway point downwards, mellowing without losing its unique character.
