Sampled this at the distillery just outside Denali in Talkeetna. Of course, enjoying it at the distillery enhances the experience, and I would likely rate it much lower if I had it at home. The aroma is simple baked goods, some vanilla. The palate is better than anticipated for a brewery that moved into distilling. Caramel, vanilla, sourdough. It's young, and naturally, the Alaskan aging process adds to its raw character. Overall, not bad…just not good. It needs age and maturity.

This is a robust, flavorful, and easy-drinking whiskey. The aroma features caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit. The taste is more intricate, with vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit yielding to oak, toasted grain, and a subtle smoky finish. It ranks among the top five spirits I've ever encountered.
Average. Sweet and bready on the nose. Smooth. No finish.
