I'm a fan of barrel-aged stouts. This whiskey takes the opposite approach, being "stout-aged" and including chocolate malt. While it pairs well with coffee and similar mixers, I didn't find it enjoyable for sipping. It has a mild stout character and coffee/cocoa notes, but it's somewhat one-dimensional, and the mineral aftertaste was disappointing and lacked complexity.
