Dancing Sands Vodka

During an xmas roadtrip at the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island, I visited the Dancing Sands Distillery in Takaka, close to where we were lodging. We toured the springs themselves, which were strikingly clear. Although they are sacred to the local Maori and swimming is forbidden, it seems that's no issue for spirit production! I haven't purchased a bottle of vodka in about 20 years, but this was quite good, so after sampling around ten of their spirits, I bought this one along with a saffron gin. Takaka is the epitome of a hippie town, full of dreadlocks and bare feet, and the distillery's current owner, originally from Israel, arrived, loved the spot, and acquired the distillery four years ago. They've done well, as their product is very nicely crafted.
