I discovered this overlooked gem while purchasing bourbon. For the price, it's unbeatable. After allowing it to breathe for 5 minutes, I took a sip. I wasn't impressed; it felt smooth but disappointingly watery. With a few more sips, it gradually grew on me. It smells of moderate peat, vanilla, allspice, and pepper. It's smoky but not overpowering, pleasantly spicy, and has an interesting medicinal finish. I'll be stocking up while it's inexpensive.

Less peaty than the 12-year expression, but still a pleasant drink. It exhibits more vanilla notes and benefits from a bit of aeration.
