Creag Isle, 33 Years

It's a decent scotch, but considering the price and age statement, I expected more. Notes of tobacco smoke mingle with leather, brine, florals, a slight mustiness, and a sweet finish, likely from the Cognac cask. It's good, but I anticipated greater complexity from a 33-year-old.

A nose with an earthy, maritime character, followed by spices and leather on the palate. A prolonged finish with hints of licorice and dark chocolate.

Pipe tobacco, smoke, brown sugar, banana, ending with dry cognac, iodine; the flavors are very integrated.

August 1st back-to-back tasting: floral, brandy, iodine, hot/dry tobacco

Notes of banana, leather, scorched marshmallows, iodine, and honeysuckle.
