Craigellachie 1994 26 Year Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength (Gordon & MacPhail)

Wow. Experienced this during a Benromach tasting event in Dornoch, Scotland. This spirit was incredible. Numerous distinct layers with flavors appearing and disappearing. It began with some sweetness, shifting to leather, fruit, and smoke, like a cascade of tastes. So much was happening, I had to request a second small pour from the event host to fully appreciate its depth. I currently have a dram of another whisky before me, and I doubt I can enjoy it after tasting this amazing spirit.

Rich, savory, spicy, and waxy, featuring notes of oranges, ginger, dates, raisins, makuna honey, dark chocolate, cloves, raspberries, toffee, almonds, walnuts, mince pies, hazelnuts, grilled pineapples, figs, beeswax, tobacco, and nutmeg.
