Diageo's Distillers Edition Collection features a limited, yearly release of single malt Scotch whiskies. Each whisky undergoes a secondary maturation in casks seasoned with a distinct fortified wine chosen to enhance the mature spirit. These finishing casks are constructed from new wood ends that are heavily charred, and recharred American oak casks subsequently seasoned with fortified wine for one month. The mature whisky is then transferred into these seasoned casks for up to six months. The Cragganmore Distillers Edition specifically uses Cragganmore 12 year old whisky and port wine. It became available in the US in April 2023 with a suggested retail price of $85.

Sweet, smooth, fruity, with a mild smoky flavor, woody spice, and notes of port wine, vanilla, and cocoa. A wonderful malt for winter evenings, perhaps enjoyed by a fire with a piece of Christmas cake.
