The nose is woody, with young oak, hints of caramel, and vanilla. The first sip reveals oak, chocolate, and peanuts. A mild, pleasant burn is present with a light to medium mouthfeel. The peanut and chocolate flavors persist longer than anticipated. Adding a drop of water softens and opens the flavor, enhancing the peanut and vanilla notes. A commendable single barrel offering for a one-time release from a local producer.
