A thick, viscous pour with a deep, rich, almost red color. The aroma presents chocolate, light fruit, and a hint of agave. Wow. The first sip delivers peanuts in the shell combined with milk chocolate and, of course, rye. There's a slight burn going down but it doesn't last too long. A few drops of water enhance the dram, bringing out the barrel's char and adding a buttery toasted peanut flavor without diminishing the chocolate's sweetness. It strongly resembles a Snickers Bar. The burn disappears with water, but isn't really missed with this sweet treat. The liquid coats the mouth and the flavor is rich. A solid offering from a local distillery.

It's essentially a smoked Reese's peanut butter cup, in a positive way.
