Store pick from Signature Wine & Spirits 8 years old, 120.4 proof Served in a Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium-dark amber. Nose: Vanilla, dark fruit, a mild clove note. Palate: Cinnamon, baking spice, clove. Finish: Surprisingly long and hot. With a splash: No new flavors emerge. Overall: 9/10 - For MGP distillate with a 75/21/4 mashbill, my expectations were specific. At $60 (including a $5 donation to charity), this significantly surpassed them. It belongs in a $60 blind tasting against top contenders in that price bracket.
