Conviction Double Oak 1929

This bourbon is certainly an adventure. It begins with a sweet, traditional corn whiskey taste, featuring notes of caramel and molasses. This then abruptly shifts to a dark chocolate and robust coffee finish, which is both surprising and exceptionally distinctive.

Nose - Sweet sap, vanilla, warm spices, also some sweet fruit. Palate - Medium body, sweet corn, oak spice, some dry tannins, quite well-balanced. Finish - Medium-long finish with dry tannins and warm spices, moderate burn.

The smell reminds me of baking holiday goodies at home; upon tasting, floral notes emerge upfront, and a gradual, warming conclusion completes a delightful experience with this youthful (but promising) spirit...
